Life Lately

Small life update, Jared is still really enjoying his job at Whirlpool - some days he could do without the commute, but at least he has 2 other guys to carpool with. I am still working for my dad part time at John Meyer Appraisal Co., but my main focus is on my Real Estate career. I am working with Keller Williams. I am so happy that I finally found a job that I love! I a lot of time in jobs that I hated, jobs just to pay bills, and so forth...now I am so excited about working! I told Jared I may become a workaholic...I wish I had like 50 clients so I was SUPER busy...that day will come. Right now I am just thrilled that I finally found a job I want to wake up and go to instead up waking up everyday wanting to bang my head into the wall. I used to find myself trying to fake sick to myself like I was in 2nd grade trying to trick my mom or something. WHEW, glad those days are behind me!

Duke is doing GREAT, he is LOVING Michigan Summers! He swims about once a week, sees family all the time, has made friends with two neighbor dogs, and has several "sun spots" he lays in around the house.

Jared and I just celebrated our 5th Anniversary! In ways I feel we have been married for like 1 year, so 5 was a bit of a shocker! We celebrated by going to Grand Haven, getting ice cream, and walking on the pier. Grand Haven is one of my favorite places! The next day we were in the Grand Rapids Urban Adventure Race which was UNBELIEVABLY AWESOME! I hear there is going to be another one in the Fall and EVERYONE should do it!...Seriously. It is just fun! I am not in the best shape of my life... surprisingly :) ... so I told Jared we were just going for the "Urban Adventure" part...not so much the "race" part. We had tons of fun, I now want to go all over the country in Urban Races (a little different, but a lot the same too) so we will see how that goes.

OH, we also are the reining Kickball Champs! YEAH BABY! We are pretty proud of that! Fall season starts in a couple weeks...better get practicing!

Anyways, life is good, we have a great house, good friends, family, and finally...jobs we like! HOORAY!
TTFN.

Everytime!

I always want to start a blog or a journal, and everytime I do I get writers block. Before I started this I was writing blog entries in my head for days. About my life, thoughts, etc...Hence why I wanted to start a blog again.

Anyways I am sure it will come back to me, I'll keep plugging away at life in the mean time.

Umm as a side note can I just say I LOVE Modern Family! Jared and I don't have TV right now so I just watch our Modern Family DVD's. They are great!

If you know me then you know:

I love Hippos
I love to travel
I love dogs and often call them doggies
I do not like fake people
I don't like small talk just for small talks sake
I would do ANYTHING for my friends
I don't eat cheese on my pizza
I love pepsi
I play Kickball and we are AWESOME
I always come up with all kinds of crazy ideas...only some of which actually end up happening
I get bored quickly
I want to move like every 6-12 months
I want to own a Jeep Wrangler
I hate being cold, but LOVE hot chocolate!
I am not a healthy eater, but wish I was.
I wish I lived on a compound so that people would always just come over to hang out
I want to have a group of friends like the friends on FRIENDS - which I LOVE by the way.
I like to try anything once...except food things..eww.
I gag a lot at gross smells (can't help it, it just happens)
I have a stuffed Hippo named Chubba
I want to be a photographer...but i'm not.
I wish I was really artsy and crafty, but i'm not.
Pet Peeves - I have a few, but I really hate when people put unspoken expectations on other people
I HAVE to get sleep or I don't function
Ok there's a pretty good start. OH i love animals, and I also think like everything is alive and I feel bad for things...like plates...seriously I do, or shirts, bags, cars, you name it and some part of me thinks that it is alive. I know in my head it's not, but I can't act on that always...it's weird...Jared puts up with a lot :)

Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling

For anyone wondering what the Gloucestershire Cheese Rolling thing is that I want to go to on my bucket list...Watch this! It's AWESOME!!

Yard Work

I love yard work, I love being outside, but I really don't like just sitting there. So a good outdoor project is always appreciated. In saying that I will say that yesterday I got so frustrated I ended up yelling at Jared across our lawn saying "I'm DONE!" (not that I had completed a task, but instead that I was so tired of dealing with it I just quit), throwing down part of our mower on the ground and walking away. We have an area in our backyard known as "The Weed Pit" - when we bought the house it was a nice playground type area with awesome rubber woodchips. When we moved in 90% of the rubber woodchips were GONE and it looked a little pathetic. This area is about 1000 SF - bigger then any place Jared and I had lived previous to our current home. Slowly is started to just be a pit filled with outrageously HUGE weeds. Last year we started ripping things out of there, put down weed killer with the hopes that this summer we would just seed the area over. Presently there are TONS of WEEDS in the pit apparently mixed in with grass seed, only there are SOOO many weeds I don't think the grass can even see the light of day. So I decided to mow the weed pit. It turned into a HUGE Weed salad and was really wet and gooey and got stuck all over our mower - and in the bagger. So then the rest of the time mowing the lawn every two laps I had to detatched the bagger, clean it out, reattach it, just to do the same thing 1 minute later. (I say I had to - I mowed but Jared did all the dirty work). On top of that all I can think of is all the money we wasted paying for GRASS....which isn't there. UGH, so the mower clogged a final time, I took off the bagger threw it on the ground and finished mowing with out it. Then I went to pick it up and reattach it and it kept falling off at which point I threw it on the ground and yelled "I'm DONE!"
To put just a little salt in the wound our neighbors re-seeded two sections of their lawn themselves (we hired someone) and theirs looks AWESOME and PERFECT! UGH. SO ANNOYING!

M&M's

Here is my question of the day: Why is there no "seam" on M&M's? How do they get that perfect coat around the tiny circles of chocolate deliciousness? I have been thinking about this all day and it is boggling my mind. Someone of the radio the other day said it's because they are dropped through the candy shell coating and then dries before it hits the next conveyor belt. I thought that was a pretty good idea, but I highly doubt that that is right - and he admitted that he really had no idea. I really have no idea either and it's bothering me...so if anyone else has any thoughts on this please feel free to share.

I'm Back!

Hello Blogging World! I'm back. I wanted to start a blog more for myself just as a place for me to just talk and blab about my thoughts and life in general. There is no theme to my blog except that it is all from me. That's about it. Happy reading!
